Yearning for a hearty adventure, but struggling to get by on the pathetic wages of a Caribbean flooring inspector? If so, today’s advertised Xbox Live Deal of the Day (part of an ongoing promotion) should float your cup of tea — right onto the shores of Monkey Island. The Xbox Live Arcade version of The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition has been marked down by 50 percent to 400 MS Points ($5).

Some readers reported having some difficulty obtaining yesterday’s deal at the advertised price. If the reduced price doesn’t reflect on the Xbox Live Marketplace yet, be sure to try again later today. And if you’re the good sort that’s already completed this classic bout of pirating, perhaps you should join us later today as we taste pies and assign numerical scores to them.

Yeah, you guessed it, Modern Warfare 2.  Not only was Modern Warfare 2 the most played game in November, but it far surpassed other games being played.  DFC Intelligence used GamerDNA’s data to show just how much Modern Warfare 2 was played last month.  Here is a look at the chart.

As you can see by the chart provided above, Modern Warfare 2 was the dominant online game in November.  I wonder what this month’s will look like around the holidays when even more copies are given as gifts and then played.  You almost feel sorry for L4D2, AC2, and Borderlands when you see this.

Going to gaming conventions is something every gamer would love to do.  Let’s face it though, it costs a lot of money between airfare, hotel, and all that jibba jabba.  What if you could avoid all that and go to the convention right from your Xbox 360?  Sounds like a dream right?  Well, it might be a dream that one day might come true.

A recent online survey asks you to imagine, imagine what it would be like to have “interactive, online versions” of conventions.

Imagine that interactive, online versions of E3, BlizzCon, GamesCon, ComicCon and every other major video game convention were made available through Xbox Live.

Here is a look at the rest of the page from which the excerpt above was taken. (click image for full size)

On top of everything listed as to what you can do, the best part about this is,

Attending a Virtual Video Game Convention would be FREE

As we stated earlier, it is pricey to actually go to the conventions, so FREE for these “Virtual Video Game Conventions” would be great for gamers.

While it will never compare to the real deal, it would be great for those not able to go to the actual event to still get a taste right from home.  While this is still just a rumor and only a rumor, this would be something great for not only gamers but Xbox live users as well.  Imagine being at a virtual E3 and playing all the same demos the press is, and without spending the money or waiting in a long line like they did!

This all seems too good to be true.  IF and WHEN anymore information on this is made available we will definitely update you.  For now kids, lets say our prayers and hope this comes true.

Halo anime fans previously saw “The Babysitter”, now fans can watch the next installment in the series, “The Duel”. This is only available for 24 hours and is out right now. To watch, go to Halo Waypoint on Xbox Live.

“The Duel” takes place thousands of years in the past at the dawn of the Covenant. The story follows a shamed Elite who defies his role as an Arbiter to take a path of revenge against those that stole the only thing that mattered to him. This ancient Arbiter must fight his way through ever-growing groups of former allies (Grunts, Elites, Hunters and more) until he finally stands face-to-face with the Elite who betrayed him.

Today is also the last time Silver members will be able to access Halo Waypoint before it goes to Xbox Live Gold members only on November 27.

If you enjoyed the Cowboy Bebop-meets-Master Chief action presented in the first episode of Halo Legends (seriously, that main character looked just like Spike Spiegel!), then you may want to check out the second episode of the Spartan-themed anime premiering today on Halo Waypoint. For 24 hours starting at 12:00AM PST (about eight hours ago), Xbox Live Silver and Gold members will be able to access “The Duel” through the “all-things-Halo” hub.

Microsoft also notes that this will be the last week for Xbox Live Silver members to explore Waypoint, and in turn, enjoy the weekly free episodes of Halo Legends. If you’re wondering what time the show will be available for you and you don’t live in North America, a full list of showtimes is available on Xbox.com.
