Remember when Mega Man 9 came out and everyone was excited that Capcom was bringing back an old classic? Well take that reaction and multiply it by ten because Capcom is bringing Mega Man back again for his tenth installment, and this time they are mixing it up a bit.
This news comes straight from Nintendo Power, and it details the changes that are coming for our hero.
Some of the major changes coming to the game include an Easy mode, as well as a choice of three characters to play as. Capcom has revealed both Mega Man and Proto Man as playable, but are keeping the third character under wraps. However, the controls and style of the game won’t change from the way we all know and love.
Along with the article comes information about a single boss, Sheep Man, who when you defeat will obtain his weapon, known as Thunder Wool, which will float and release an electric burst.
Even from the small amount of information revealed it’s clear that Mega Man 10 is attempting to make the game more accessible, as evident by changes like the Easy mode.
Rubik’s Puzzle Galaxy Coming To WiiWare -1.052009-12-08 13:40:15Maura S
Two Tribes and The Game Factory have today announced a new series of Rubik-inspired WiiWare puzzle games. The first of these will be Rubik’s Puzzle Galaxy: RUSH, which will be released for WiiWare in Europe on 11th December and in North America on 14th December for 600 Wii Points.
“Rubik’s Puzzle Galaxy: Rush is a fantastic addition to the WiiWare library for puzzle fans both young and old,” said Martijn Reuvers, managing director of Two Tribes. “With Rubik’s Puzzle Galaxy: RUSH, players get a mind-boggling puzzle game that will really push their imagination and challenge their puzzle-solving skills to the next level.”
The game is based on the iconic 1980s Rubik’s Cube puzzle which has sold over 300 million units worldwide, and has the same familiar look as the original cube. There are 70 brain-busting levels in all, in which players attempt to ‘herd’ coloured cubes to their exit points using different tools, such as conveyer belts, warps and stop signs. Players will also get the original Rubik’s Cube gameplay thrown in as a bonus, where they can attempt to solve one of the four sizes, play the pattern-matching score mode, and learn how to solve the original Rubik’s Cube, as well as competing in a two-player mode and participating in tournaments and online leader boards. All that and it only takes up a weeny 113 Nintendo Memory Blocks!
New Screenshots Released For Fifth Monkey Island Episode-1.052009-12-05 10:10:21Maura S
To celebrate the imminent release of the fifth and final installment in the WiiWare Tales of Monkey Island series on 8th December, Telltale Games and LucasArts have issued some brand new screenshots as well as a fantastic trailer that provides an overview of the series. As you’ll know if you’ve played the fourth instalment, The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood, it’s not looking good for series hero Guybrush Threepwood. Not good at all. Can he really be dead?! Telltale Games is promising that many fans’ questions will be answered when the final episode, Rise of the Pirate God, is finally released next week.
“He wanted what every young man wants – to loot, pillage, and sail the high seas in search of further looting and pillaging opportunities,” said Dave Grossman, veteran Monkey Island game designer and writer. “It’s a great tragedy to see such a productive life seemingly cut off prematurely. And I’m not just saying that because he owes me money.”
Can’t wait to see how they wrap it all up!
Tales of Monkey Island: Rise of the Pirate God is released on Tuesday 8th December for WiiWare in North America at a cost of 1000 Wii Points™.
Pallurikio Action Platformer Announced For WiiWare-1.052009-11-28 05:07:05Maura S
Independent Italian video game developer Playstos Entertainment has today announced Pallurikio for WiiWare™. They describe the game as an “action platformer”, in which a young boy, Jimmy, and his dog are transported through a dimensional vortex when playing a mysterious board game that they’ve found. On arriving in a “mystical and wondrous” world, Jimmy turns into the round, bouncing Pallurikio. Bad for him, fun for us.
Players can make Pallurikio jump and roll his way through over 50 levels, including Bakumbala Jungle and Palluro Prime, simply by pointing their Wii Remote™ at the screen. The game features classic 2D platform gameplay across Adventure and Time Attack modes, as well as collectable cards and space rockets. To learn more about the game, visit the official website.
Pallurikio will be available for download on 11th December on the European Wii Shop Channel for 1,000 Wii Points™. The North American release date will be announced soon.
The WiiWare demo service arrives in Europe today, though a bit light on content compared to other regions. On the upside, both of the demos offered are for games that cost 1,500 Wii Points, which means you could save a pretty large chunk of change if you discover (somehow) that you don’t like World of Goo.
In terms of stuff you pay for, Shootantois going to be totally overshadowed by Pokemon Rumble. DSiWare has a decent selection of games, including something that looks kind of like Defend Your Castle, a few card games, and myNotebook.
