Keeping up the cavalcade of Trauma Team goodness, Atlus has today released two behind-the-scenes videos to further whet your appetite for the medical sim. The first of the two videos focuses on the voice-over recording process, while the second introduces you to the voice actors themselves.

“With special thanks to the talented folks at PCB Productions, we’re able to take fans inside the voice recording process and show them how work is progressing on the upcoming Trauma Team,” said Crystal Murray, public relations specialist at Atlus.

In the videos, you’ll get to hear from the project lead and editor for Trauma Team, as well as Keith Arem, president of PCB Productions and lead recording engineer for Trauma Team. You also get to have a bit of a nose at people’s desks, which is always fun! Enjoy!

Trauma Team, the latest installment in the Trauma Center series, is currently scheduled for release exclusively for the Wii on 20th April 2010 with an MSRP of $49.99. It has not yet received a rating from the ESRB.

The internet is all agog today over the news that Nintendo recently filed a trademark for the name ‘Zii’. According to website SiliconEra, the information was not made public until yesterday, when it was published in the Japanese trademark database. This has led to much speculation from other industry websites in the know, including T3, Tech Watch and Tech Digest, that maybe, just maybe, Zii has been trademarked because it’s going to be the name of Nintendo’s next console, the much-mooted HD/Blu-ray, all singing, all dancing version of the Wii. With even Nintendo admitting recently that Wii sales appear to have hit a bit of a wall, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if they’re already well on the way to releasing their next console. Sure, NOA president Reggie Fils-Aime may have categorically stated that an HD Wii (or Zii?!) is not happening any time soon, but that doesn’t stop us speculating, does it?

Japanese gaming news website Andriasang is reporting that New Super Mario Bros. racked up an astonishing 936, 734 first week sales in Japan, completely trouncing Smash Bros. Brawl’s first week sales of 816, 000 back in January 2008, and therefore making it the fastest selling Wii game ever in Japan. Aside from Smash Bros. Brawl and now New Super Mario Bros., Andriasang points out that only Mario Kart Wii and Monster Hunter 3 managed to sell over 500,000 copies in their first week in Japan. Even more impressively, MCV has also reported today that New Super Mario Bros. Wii has even beaten the first week sales of New Super Mario Bros. DS, which came in at 900, 000. Figures for the rest of the world haven’t emerged yet, but the game has already topped the Wii charts in the US and the UK, so it’s looking good all round for Mario and Luigi!

Konami has today released five new screenshots for GTI Club Supermini Festa!, a new racing title for the Wii which is due to be released shortly. Based on the award-winning arcade game, players will get the chance to race through France, the UK, Italy, the USA and Japan, exploring all manner of terrain, including highly populated city streets and perilously winding mountain passes. The game will feature 16 fully customisable cars, which will be put to the test on a variety of courses throughout the five aforementioned countries, with each stage including a number of bends, twists and secret routes for players to discover. The game will also include multiplayer modes for up to four players, such as Bombtag, a time-attack mode where players must try to avoid being tagged by a bomb, and Tomato Frenzy, where players get to pelt tomatoes at targets. Other online battle modes will also be available. Looks like a lot of fun judging by the screenshots!
