The latest news from e-Xpress games arrived yesterday, with news that Darksiders has been dated, and priced for India – 5th January, 2010, for the pretty much expected price of Rs 2499. Described as a take on God of War, but putting you in the Bible instead of Greek Myth, and putting you in the role of War himself. Despite the slightly campy tone of this description, the game look interesting, and we’re waiting eagerly for our chance to take it for a spin.
Deceived by the forces of evil into prematurely bringing about the end of the world, War – the first Horseman of the Apocalypse – stands accused of breaking the sacred law by inciting a war between Heaven and Hell. Dishonored and stripped of his powers, War must return to Earth to search for the truth and punish those responsible.
Hunted by a vengeful group of Angels, War must take on the forces of Hell, forge uneasy alliances with the very demons he hunts, and journey across the ravaged remains of the Earth on his quest for vindication. But the answers he seeks will reveal a deep conspiracy in which War is just a pawn in the eternal battle between Heaven and Hell.
• Apocalyptic Power of War – Unleash the wrath of War with devastating supernatural abilities; an extreme arsenal of angelic, demonic, and earthly weapons; and his fiery red phantom steed, Ruin
• Epic Quest – Battle across the wastelands and demon-infested dungeons of the decimated Earth, discovering new weapons, learning new abilities, and uncovering ancient relics to aid in your quest for vengeance and redemption
• Battle Heaven and Hell – Destroy all who stand in your way – from war-weary angelic forces to Hell’s hideous demon hordes, and confront the nefarious Destroyer, the very harbinger of Armageddon

Croteam has announced that Serious Sam HD will be available on PC starting November 24. As the name implies, Serious Sam HD is the high definition remake of Croteam’s flagship first-person shooter. Apart from the redone graphics, the game’s major feature is gigantic hordes of furiously attacking enemies. It is, in short, seriously old-school FPS designed to engender mad, constantly quick-saving fear in its players.
The game can be pre-ordered for $17.99 on Steam, $2 off the regular price.

The good news: no
Boxing Day shopping trips are in store for European gamers eager to telekinetically grab
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers. The (relatively) bad news: that’s because it’s coming out more than a month later. Square Enix announced today that
Crystal Bearers will be available in PAL territories on February 5, 2010. As waits for
Final Fantasy games go, it doesn’t seem that bad.
In fact, with the game being released on a normal day instead of the day after Christmas, maybe someone in Europe will notice its release — something we suspect may be a problem for a game that has been under the radar for most of its development.

Once again, Cryptic Studios is giving you a great excuse not to spend time with friends and family over a holiday weekend. The developer’s superheroic MMO, Champions Online, will be free-to-play from November 26-30 as a promotion for the game’s second free content expansion since its launch in September.
The free update, which is titled Nemesis Confrontation and launches November 24, will include new costumes and perks, and tasks players with escaping from a hostile intergalactic prison — a mission made much more difficult by the facility’s unfriendly inhabitants, seen above. You’ll also face off against the Shadow Destroyer (the party responsible for your hero’s unrequested detention) and even your user-generated Nemesis. Sounds like a pretty dangerous calling — but nowhere near as perilous as the crushing throng of Black Friday shoppers that awaits you at your local mall.
