The Beatles: Rock Band will get a hot DLC injection tomorrow when Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band releases as downloadable content. In preparation for the arrival of these new tracks, MTV has passed along the above trailer which offers a brief sample of new tracks in the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club album mixed together with some found on the disc. In the end, the video saves us all precious time we would’ve had to use sampling tracks on YouTube and, inevitably, watching Pomplamoose videos.

One of the people in the video used the words “F#%king Awesome-Sauce” to describe this, I have to say I couldn’t agree more.  This song is great no matter how or where its played.  As a gamer, you should know it and love it!

Activision has applied to trademark Drum Hero. Yes, your initial reaction is likely the same as ours: “Wait, how did Activision not do that already?” Good question, but apparently the Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, and Band Hero publisher only applied for the trademark in late October. This does not guarantee a percussion-based Hero title is in the works, but, once again, aren’t we all a little surprised one doesn’t already exist?

If the inside of your cranium is tickling with the distinct feeling like you have memory of a Drum Hero trademark, the confusion may have to do with the Guitar Villain and Drum Villain trademarks, that were apparently filed back in 2007 — which is when one would think the Drum Hero trademark would have been filed as well.

Ex-Beatle George Harrison’s son, Dhani Harrison, is working with Harmonix on Rock Band 3.

That’s only half news. Rock Band 3 was pretty much confirmed once Rock Band 2 was released.

The cool thing is that, in an interview with Harrison, Greg Kot of the Chicago Tribune was able to get this tidbit out of him:

“I’m working on ‘Rock Band 3′ and making the controllers more real so people can actually learn how to play music while playing the game. Give me a couple years, it’s going to happen.”

I’ve been bored with the Guitar Hero standard guitar controller for a while; there are only so many interesting patterns you can play on 5 frets on one string. This sounds kind of cool. I guess we’ll see where it leads us.

DSpianoattachIf you’ve ever wanted to learn piano, but just don’t have the room for one (or the money to buy one), Easy Piano is for you. Coming to stores in early 2010 and geared for players of all ages, Easy Piano and its 13 note keyboard peripheral allows for an intuitive and fun learning experience. It is a great learning tool, and also offers a mode similar to games in the Rock Band or Hero-series of games. The game offers a ten lesson learning tool and a plethora of mini-games for people just learning the piano, as well as two difficulty modes and the option to create and record your own masterpieces, up to three minutes in length.
