Something pretty exciting has been released to the world of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. The Duel Terminals, after success in Japan, have been brought to official tournament stores in the United States. These terminals are arcade style machines that play and teach the trading card game as well as dispense cards to players. Play on the machine can be at one of two levels. Players may choose to skip playing and just get their card. The cards are specially treated so they can be scanned and used inside the game. The terminal cards can also be used as actual cards and, once these unique cards are released in non-terminal products, will be legal for use in tournaments. They hope to bring in foot traffic to the stores that have them as well as increase the enthusiasm for the card game itself.
Speaking of tournaments, the Pegasus League has finally kicked off! As mentioned in a previous announcement, this League is designed in one- or two-month cycles that feature challenges in deck building and creative playing methods. The first format will start on January 1, 2010 and run through February 28, 2010. Like most challenges, there is a list of legal sets as well as banned cards. That information as well as a FAQ can be found here.
Happy playing!

After Joystiq did a quick survey of some on-line European game retailers, namely GAME, Gamestation and Play.com they discovered that all of them had named a release date for Quantic Dream’s ambitious PlayStation 3 exclusive.
All sites pointed to Heavy Rain hitting stores on February 26th. In Europe games usually see release on a Friday so North America could see Heavy Rain on the 23rd although SCEA have not confirmed this yet.
At GrE we will be getting out our origami books to see if we can match the Origami Killer in skill when Heavy Rain does finally see release.

I received Zombie Pizza to review at the same time I was reviewing a different cooking game: Gourmania. I couldn’t ask for 2 more different games. In Zombie Pizza, players to help the zombies by providing pizzas to nourish them. Players are given a cookbook to look over before entering the kitchen. The point then becomes to make as many pizzas as possible that match the recipes in the cookbook. This earns players points and once players reach certain levels, they are awarded with medals. Although Zombie Pizza is rated 9+ for Infrequent/ Mild Cartoon or Fantasy Violence and Infrequent/Mild Horror/ Fear Themes, I would find it very difficult to believe any child older than 6 or 7 would be disturbed by this game. Yes, players are using human organs as pizza toppings but these toppings are cartoonish representations.
Graphic: Pretty good. The atmosphere is pretty much what one might expect from a zombie game. its dark and dreary. The toppings are all very recognizable so players always know what they are cooking with.
Sound: The music is fun and adds to the ambiance. The character voices are mostly just scary grunts and eating sounds with an occasional command thrown in.
Female Factor: Almost nonexistent. All the zombie voices sound very masculine although the player’s character is genderless.
Controls: Pretty good. The touch screen works very well with this type of cooking game. Simply, touch and drag ingredients to the pizza and then flick the pizza to the hungry crowd.
Fun Factor: This is really an issue for me. While the graphic, sound and controls were good and really added to the fast paced action of the game, Zombie Pizza was just ok. I can’t say I found the game play addictive. There is a Lite version which may be a safer bet to try out the game before paying for the full one. I would pass on this one.
Review product was provided by Appy Entertainment, and does not affect the outcome of this review.
Zombie Pizza is available from the Apps Store for $.99.

It seems like Microsoft is looking for people for to fill up some spots over at 343 industries. Microsoft put some ads up on their website that they are looking for employees for 343 industries not only for Natal and other projects, but a “Halo-Job” as well.
Microsoft created 343 Industries to work on Halo after Bungie became an independent developer. With several positions open for various jobs, it seems like Microsoft is maybe going start a new Halo title. Could it be a Halo game we’ll see released after Halo: Reach, which is Bungie’s last Halo game .
No confirmation has been given that a Halo game is going to be in the works soon, so we’ll through this in the rumormill. As always if Microsoft was asked about this the answer would be, “We don’t not take part in rumors or speculation”
We will update you when we have more information.
