The WiiWare demo service arrives in Europe today, though a bit light on content compared to other regions. On the upside, both of the demos offered are for games that cost 1,500 Wii Points, which means you could save a pretty large chunk of change if you discover (somehow) that you don’t like World of Goo.

In terms of stuff you pay for, Shootanto is going to be totally overshadowed by Pokemon Rumble. DSiWare has a decent selection of games, including something that looks kind of like Defend Your Castle, a few card games, and myNotebook.

  • Pokemon Rumble (WiiWare, 1-4 players, 1,500 Wii Points)
  • Shootanto: Evolutionary Mayhem (WiiWare, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points)
  • Army Defender (DSiWare, 1 player, 200 DSi Points)
  • A Little Bit of … All-Time Classics: Strategy Games (DSiWare, 1 player, 500 DSi Points)
  • myNotebook: Blue (DSiWare, 1 player, 200 DSi Points)
  • Uno (DSiWare, 1-6 players, 500 DSi Points)
  • Demos: Pokemon Rumble, World of Goo (free)

Today, on the European Wii Shop, Hudson follows up its surprisingly successful My Aquarium with more animals to take care of. Also on WiiWare, Nintendo’s still-weird Balance Board-equipped Rock N’ Roll Climber, whose rock-climbing/air-guitar concept, and whose non-standard apostrophe use we’ll never get used to.

The big draw for us is the arcade brawler version of Ninja Gaiden, which seems fresh to us after 20 years of dodging eagles in the NES game.

  • My Zoo (WiiWare, 1 player, 500 Wii Points)
  • Rock N’ Roll Climber (WiiWare, 1 player, 800 Wii Points)
  • Ninja Gaiden (Arcade, 1 player, 800 Wii Points)
  • A Little Bit Of …. Nintendo Touch Golf (DSiWare, 800 DSi Points)

So it’s Friday, we’re all excited.

What does everyone have planned this weekend??

Check out the new HBG User Blogs, they are pretty neat!

Nintendo of Europe apparently believes Halloween is serious business and worth celebrating. Four of the five new downloadable games this week are in some way horror-themed! Zombies Ate My Neighbors arrives on Virtual Console in the same week as its North American release (under the European title Zombies), as does (unfortunately) Ghost Mansion Party. WayForward’s LIT proves a more appropriate Halloween release than its Valentine’s Day-adjacent release in the US would suggest.

Perhaps the biggest, scariest surprise of all: Little Red Riding Hood’s Zombie BBQ is out in Europe, finally! And, while it was released on a cartridge here, it’s an 800-point DSiWare download in Europe! No excising of zombie food talk for this one.

  • Zombies (SNES, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points)
  • LIT (WiiWare, 1 player, 800 Wii Points)
  • Ghost Mansion Party (WiiWare, 1-4 players, 1,000 Wii Points)
  • Little Red Riding Hood’s Zombie BBQ (DSiWare, 1 player, 800 DSi Points)
  • A Little Bit of … All Time Classics: Card Classics (DSiWare, 1-8 players, 500 DSi Points)
